Forging the Future: Odisha’s ₹17.2k Cr Manufacturing Win

The Odisha State Cabinet has approved a major investment proposal from the Kalyani Group, positioning the state as a new hub for high-technology manufacturing in sectors such as aerospace, advanced automotive manufacturing, and specialty materials.

The approval encompasses three integrated projects involving a total investment of ₹17,250 crore, which are expected to generate approximately 12,000 high-skilled jobs. As part of the proposal, Kalyani Steels will set up an integrated advanced specialty steel facility at Gajamara in Dhenkanal district, with an annual capacity of 7,00,000 tonnes of specialty steel and 10,000 tonnes of titanium alloy. Saarloha Advanced Materials will establish a manufacturing unit for superalloys, titanium alloys, specialty steel rolled products, and advanced metal powders.

In addition, Bharat Forge will develop a state-of-the-art casting, forging, and precision machining facility to cater to the aerospace, automotive, and green energy sectors. To facilitate these investments, the Odisha government has approved a special incentive package, including a 45 per cent capital investment subsidy on plant and machinery, aimed at enabling full vertical integration within the state’s manufacturing ecosystem.
