Brigade x Tamil Nadu: A ₹1,100 Crore Hospitality Revolution

Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited (BHVL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu on 2 February 2026 at the Tamil Nadu Global Tourism Summit.

The agreement, signed in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, commits BHVL to invest ₹1,100 crore to strengthen the state’s tourism infrastructure and generate employment for more than 1,000 people. As part of the initiative, BHVL plans to add over 500 hotel keys through the development of three new properties in Chennai.

The proposed hotels include a Courtyard by Marriott at the Chennai World Trade Center, a Grand Hyatt Chennai on the East Coast Road (ECR), and a JW Marriott Chennai on the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR). These developments will significantly enhance the city’s hospitality landscape, with the Courtyard by Marriott offering 45 rooms, the Grand Hyatt featuring 211 rooms, and the JW Marriott comprising 250 rooms and suites.

BHVL has already acquired land for the projects, reinforcing its strategy to develop landmark hospitality destinations in Chennai as part of its broader expansion across South India.
