Fortis Healthcare has signed an operations and management agreement with the Ekana Group to operate a 550-bed greenfield super specialty hospital in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
Strategically located near Gomti Nagar, the upcoming facility will serve as a Centre of Excellence for tertiary care, offering state-of-the-art infrastructure and adhering to global best practices in clinical delivery. This marks Fortis’ third hospital in Uttar Pradesh, complementing its existing presence in Noida and Greater Noida.
“This collaboration reinforces our commitment to expanding quality healthcare access across Uttar Pradesh,” said Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, MD & CEO of Fortis Healthcare. “It strengthens our footprint in the state and aligns with our strategy of scaling presence in high-potential Tier-2 markets.”
Fortis currently operates 33 healthcare facilities across 11 states, with a network of over 5,700 beds and 400 diagnostic labs. The addition of the Lucknow hospital further bolsters its integrated healthcare model.
Commenting on the partnership, Ekana Group promoter Uday Sinha noted, “This association will significantly improve access to advanced medical care and bring world-class healthcare closer to communities that need it most.”
The project supports Fortis’ strategic focus on Tier-2 cities, where rising urbanisation and income levels are driving increasing demand for high-quality tertiary healthcare services.
