GAIL Secures 10-Year LNG Lifeline from Global Leader Vital Asia

GAIL (India) and Vital Asia have recently solidified a substantial and enduring partnership encompassing the annual supply of approximately one million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) over a decade, commencing in 2026.

Within this collaborative venture, Vital Asia will leverage its expansive global LNG portfolio to procure and deliver LNG to GAIL in India on a national scale, addressing the escalating natural gas demand within the country. This strategic agreement with Vital enhances GAIL's already extensive LNG portfolio, significantly contributing to bridging the demand and supply gap for natural gas in India.

Vital Asia, a prominent energy sector player, boasts a diverse global LNG portfolio with long-term supplies sourced from key regions such as North America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. In 2022 alone, Vital successfully delivered approximately 14 million tonnes per annum (tpa) of LNG.

This strategic collaboration aligns seamlessly with GAIL's ongoing negotiations with various LNG suppliers for long-term agreements. GAIL's expertise spans across multiple facets of the energy sector, including gas trading, transmission, LPG production and transmission, LNG regasification, petrochemicals, city gas, and exploration and production (E&P).
