Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), the renewable energy arm of the Adani Group, has achieved a major milestone by surpassing 15,000 MW of operational capacity, solidifying its position as India’s largest renewable energy company and placing it among the world’s top 10 independent power producers.
As of June 2025, AGEL’s installed capacity stands at 15,539.9 MW, as per a regulatory filing. This capacity is sufficient to power approximately 7.9 million households and offset 28.6 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually. In FY25 alone, AGEL added 3,309 MW—the highest annual capacity addition by any Indian renewable company—contributing to a 5,000 MW increase over just 15 months.
AGEL’s portfolio includes 11,005.5 MW of solar, 1,977.8 MW of wind, and 2,556.6 MW of hybrid projects. The company’s growth trajectory is anchored by its flagship Khavda project in Gujarat, which aims to achieve 30,000 MW of capacity by 2029. Spanning 538 sq. km, Khavda is poised to become the world’s largest renewable energy installation. As of now, 5,355.9 MW has already been commissioned at the site.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, AGEL highlighted key milestones such as the commissioning of the 648 MW Kamuthi solar plant in Tamil Nadu (FY16) and the 2,140 MW hybrid project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan (FY23), alongside the ongoing development of the Khavda mega-project.
