The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has proposed a ₹67.5 crore project to upgrade the 7.5 km stretch of Ardee City Road, connecting IFFCO Chowk to Sector 56.
The initiative aims to enhance the road’s capacity to manage increasing traffic, particularly with the upcoming Metro station near Fortis Hospital. Currently, the road lacks service lanes and footpaths despite heavy pedestrian and vehicular movement. Planned improvements include the construction of service roads, footpaths, and drains, along with resurfacing the main carriageway. Additional measures such as slip roads and improved drainage are designed to ease congestion and pedestrian bottlenecks. The project also includes an ₹80 crore underpass near Z Chowk to further streamline traffic flow.
Residents of sectors 28, 29, 44, 45, 51, 52, 55, 56, 57, as well as Sushant Lok, RD City, and nearby areas, are expected to benefit from the upgrades. A GMDA official noted, “The expansion of this road will significantly increase its carrying capacity and reduce congestion.”
