Govt Allocates Rs 1,000 Crore for Bulk Drug Parks in FY25

The government has allocated Rs 1,000 crore for the advancement of bulk drug parks in the fiscal year 2025. Additionally, the overall budget for the growth of the pharmaceutical industry in FY25 has been augmented to Rs 1,300 crore, a substantial increase from the revised estimate of Rs 264.67 crore in FY24.

Likewise, the budget for the 'promotion of medical device parks' has been elevated to Rs 150 crore for FY25, a significant rise from the Rs 64 crore in the revised estimate for FY24. Furthermore, the funding for assistance to medical device clusters for common facilities (AMD-CF) has been lifted to Rs 40 crore for FY25, compared to Rs 33 crore in the revised estimate for FY24.

In support of the Jan Aushadhi scheme, aimed at providing affordable generic medicines across the nation, the budget allocation has been raised to Rs 284.5 crore for FY25.
