Grasim's Hi-Tech Paint Plant Starts Production

Grasim Industries, a prominent member of the Aditya Birla Group, is on the verge of initiating full-scale production at its new paint facility in Punjab. Situated in the HiTech Valley of Dhanansu village in Ludhiana, this state-of-the-art integrated paint manufacturing unit has successfully completed its construction phase.

Representing an investment of Rs 910 crore, the paint unit has recently entered its trial run phase. It is poised to create employment opportunities for 2,000 individuals, offering direct employment for 500 people and indirect opportunities for 1,500 others. The commencement of commercial production is anticipated to serve as a catalyst, fostering increased industrial activity in the region.

As one of six plants being established nationwide, the Ludhiana facility prioritizes safety and environmental protection, boasting cutting-edge systems with zero-liquid discharge capabilities. Operating under the brand name 'Birla Opus,' Grasim Industries ventured into the paints business last year, and the construction of the Ludhiana plant commenced on a sprawling 61-acre site in December 2022.
