Backed by an investment of nearly Rs 3,500 crore, the initiative aims to boost national defence manufacturing and regional industrial growth. The virtual ceremony, hosted from Kolkata, also saw the participation of West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. The package features three GRSE projects and two projects by Yantra India. Additionally, GRSE has secured lease agreements with the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port for two smaller shipyards to bolster India's warship construction, refit capabilities, and maritime infrastructure.
