The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has identified five major traffic junctions in the city to be upgraded as model junctions to improve traffic flow and reduce violations.
The congestion-prone locations include Z Chowk, junctions near Good Earth Mall, Artemis Hospital, Bikanerwala on MG Road, and Medanta Hospital. In coordination with the traffic police, GMDA plans to implement a combination of engineering interventions and strengthened enforcement measures at these sites.
The proposed upgrades include improved lane markings, clearly defined pedestrian crossings, speed limit signage, modern traffic signals, and the installation of surveillance cameras to enable real-time traffic monitoring and violation detection.
Following approval of the proposal, tenders will be invited for the execution of the works. The initiative forms part of GMDA’s broader strategy to enhance traffic discipline, road safety, and overall mobility across Gurugram.
