IKEA has further expanded its footprint in North India with the launch of its first fully outsourced central distribution centre (CDC) in Gurugram, Delhi-NCR. Located in Farrukh Nagar, the 1,80,000 sq. ft. facility was developed in collaboration with global logistics partner Rhenus and officially announced on 24 February, 2025.
This state-of-the-art CDC will support the storage and fulfilment of over 7,000 IKEA products, playing a critical role in delivering products efficiently across the Delhi NCR region and eventually extending to other northern markets. With a focus on sustainability and advanced technology, the facility ensures quick and reliable doorstep delivery. Positioned approximately 35 km from the airport, the CDC is strategically connected to the region’s rail, road, and air networks.
The centre boasts a storage capacity of 12,000 m³ and is capable of fulfilling most orders within 24 hours, aligning with IKEA’s strategic growth plans in India. Integrated with the Rhenus Warehouse Management System (WMS), the centre facilitates efficient operations through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and streamlines last-mile logistics.
Employing around 150 people, the CDC also emphasizes employee welfare with facilities such as healthcare support, emergency infrastructure, a cafeteria, and a training hall. It is also committed to exploring opportunities to hire specially-abled individuals.
