GVMC Sets December Deadline for 24x7 Water Project

The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has set December 31 as the deadline to complete its 24x7 potable water supply project in the north-western region of Visakhapatnam, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The project is already operational in areas such as Madhavadhara, Muralinagar, and Marripalem, providing around 5,000 water connections. However, several works remain pending. GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg, during a site review in Zone-V’s Madhavadhara sector, directed Superintending Engineer K.V.N. Ravi to ensure timely completion by the contractors.

Garg also requested a comparative analysis of water consumption under the 24x7 supply system versus the previous conventional system to assess changes in usage patterns. The review meeting was attended by Executive Engineers Yedukondalu and Muralikrishna, Deputy Executive Engineer Satish, and representatives from Nagarjuna Construction Company.
