Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed officials to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing mega infrastructure projects across the state.
Chairing a high-level review meeting, the Chief Minister evaluated projects valued at over ₹100 crore, with a focus on key initiatives under the Medical Education & Research and Irrigation & Water Resources Departments. Officials provided updates on large-scale irrigation efforts aimed at water conservation, improved irrigation efficiency, and ensuring reliable water supply across agricultural regions.
Major projects include the construction of a Parallel Line Channel (PLC) from Dadupur to Hamida Head, and the modernisation of the Western Yamuna Canal (WYC)—with over 80% of the work completed. These projects are designed to reduce seepage losses from the Hathnikund Barrage during non-monsoon months.
Additionally, the reconstruction of the augmentation canal up to the WYC Branch (75.25 km) is underway at a cost of ₹383 crore, while the lining and remodelling of the PD Branch (Munak to Khubru Head) is progressing with an estimated outlay of ₹256 crore.
