The long-delayed Hosakerehalli Flyover near PES University in Bengaluru is finally set to open to the public this November, promising to significantly ease traffic congestion along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) corridor.
Originally scheduled for completion within 15 months, the project has experienced a delay of nearly five years (60 months) due to multiple setbacks, resulting in prolonged traffic snarls in the area. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) faced criticism from commuters over the extended delay, prompting the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) to issue a 15-day ultimatum for completion. Once inaugurated, the flyover is expected to decongest the PES College Junction and improve overall traffic flow.
In a related update, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced that the Ejipura Flyover project, which began prior to 2019 and stalled midway, is now scheduled for completion by June 2026.
