Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) has invited bids to supply 78 MW of renewable energy under a long-term open access agreement for its Mumbai Refinery in Maharashtra. The selected developer will be responsible for establishing an Inter-State or Intra-State Transmission System to deliver renewable power to HPCL. Bidders must demonstrate experience in executing similar projects and have a net worth exceeding ₹12.26 million (~$147 million)/MW of the declared project capacity.
The selected power producer will supply renewable energy to HPCL's Mumbai Refinery through the Trombay Substation. Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹15.8 million (~$189,562) and a performance bank guarantee upon selection. The deadline for bid submission is November 29, 2023.
HPCL aims to substitute conventional grid power with environmentally friendly renewable energy sources to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2040. Projects under construction or not yet commissioned are eligible for consideration, provided they have not been accepted under other programs or supplied to other entities. Enhancements to already commissioned projects are not eligible.
HPCL has recently invited bids for a 5 MW grid-connected ground-mounted solar power project in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, and sought project management consultancies for grid-connected captive solar projects with an aggregate capacity of 1.2 MW under net metering.
