IHG Hotels & Resorts is poised for significant expansion in India, with plans to open 60 new hotels over the next three to five years, according to Sudeep Jain, Managing Director – South West Asia, IHG.
Currently, the global hospitality group operates 47 hotels across five brands in India: Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Express. With a total of 7,719 rooms nationwide, IHG has a strong presence in Tamil Nadu, including three hotels in Chennai with a combined 456 keys. Additionally, the company is preparing to launch a new property in Kodaikanal.
Jain emphasized that the upcoming projects will be strategically positioned in key tier-I and tier-II cities, religious destinations, and leisure hubs. On Thursday, IHG is set to sign a new project in Penn, Maharashtra.
Recognizing India as a vital growth market, IHG plans to introduce new brands, including Garner, in the coming months, though financial details remain undisclosed.
