Industrial Revolution: Bihar's ₹1,038 Crore Plan

On 5 August 2025, the Bihar Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, approved 36 proposals, including major industrial and energy initiatives. A new industrial corridor will be developed in Bhagalpur, involving 97 acres—96.89 acres of which are government land to be transferred to the Industries Department. In Gopalganj, a 32.66-acre industrial area will be set up by BIADA using land from two villages in Vijayapur block.

Industrial zones in Aurangabad, Katihar, Nalanda, Muzaffarpur, and Supaul will be expanded by 2,417 acres at an estimated cost of ₹1,038 crore. Meanwhile, a proposed solar project in Pirpainti has been replaced with a 3x800 MW thermal power project on a 33-year lease. The Cabinet also approved several appointments and departmental reorganizations.
