Infineon Powers Up GIFT City: 400 Engineers Fuel Semiconductor Revolution.

Germany-based semiconductor leader Infineon Technologies has inaugurated a Global Capability Centre (GCC) at GIFT City, Gujarat—the state's first such facility. The centre will house 400 engineers, driving advancements in semiconductor chip design, product software, IT, supply chain management, and systems engineering.

The announcement was made at an event attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Infineon Technologies CEO Jochen Hanebeck. Vinay Shenoy, MD of Infineon Technologies India, highlighted Ahmedabad’s growing prominence as a tech hub and emphasized the centre’s role in shaping future innovations in mobility, energy efficiency, and security.

This marks Infineon’s second GCC in India, complementing its operations in Bengaluru, Noida, Pune, and Vadodara. Hanebeck reiterated India’s strategic significance, with plans to reach €1 billion in annual revenue from the country by 2030.

The launch aligns with Gujarat’s Global Capability Centre policy, introduced on February 11, 2025, which aims to attract ₹10,000 crore in investments, establish 250 GCCs, and generate 50,000 jobs.
