Inox AP Joins the Chip Race with Rs 500-Cr Dholera Gas Hub

Inox Air Products (Inox AP) has begun construction of a Rs 500-crore electronic specialty gas hub in Dholera, Gujarat, aimed at supporting India’s rapidly evolving semiconductor ecosystem. A key focus of the project is to serve Tata Electronics’ upcoming Rs 91,000-crore semiconductor fabrication plant, being developed in partnership with Taiwan’s Powerchip.

The facility will produce ultra-high purity (UHP) gases—including nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and hydrogen—which are critical for semiconductor manufacturing. According to Managing Director Siddharth Jain, the plant is expected to become operational within 12 to 18 months, aligning with Tata’s planned production timelines.

Inox AP is the first industrial gas company to acquire land in the Dholera region and intends to invest in phases over the next two to three years to build comprehensive storage and delivery infrastructure for around 40 types of specialty gases—many of which are currently not manufactured in India.

While initial gas supplies will be imported, Inox AP plans to localise production through global technology partnerships. The company also envisions future exports from the Dholera hub, which would involve additional investments beyond the current scope.

With a workforce of over 1,800 employees, Inox AP is poised for further expansion as it strengthens its role in India’s high-tech manufacturing supply chain.
