Jindal Stainless (JSL) has announced an investment of ₹700 crore over the coming years to support its decarbonisation strategy, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable growth and environmental responsibility.
Key initiatives include:
Setting up Odisha’s largest captive solar power plant, Implementing energy efficiency enhancements across operations
Digitising the supply chain to improve transparency and traceability
Advancing community development programs focused on education, healthcare, and skill-building around its plant locations
In FY25, JSL achieved a 14% year-on-year reduction in carbon emissions, cutting approximately 3,18,248 tonnes of CO₂ compared to FY24. Building on this momentum, the company plans to further accelerate its sustainability efforts in FY26.
JSL has outlined a clear roadmap to reduce emissions by 50% by 2035 and achieve net zero by 2050. These measures position JSL as a frontrunner in driving low-carbon transformation within India’s steel industry.
