J&K Extends Bid Deadline for Major Pulwama Irrigation Upgrade

The Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC) Department of Jammu and Kashmir has extended the bid submission deadline to July 14, 2025, for the selection of a contractor to revamp and modernise the Marval Lift Irrigation Scheme in Pulwama. The project is funded under the NABARD RIDF-XXX scheme.

The scope of work includes the dismantling of existing pumping units, relocation of replaced components to a designated storage area within a 100-metre radius, and retrofitting of new electromechanical equipment within the existing infrastructure. It also involves the stabilisation of the 33KV tap line, including the supply and erection of the transmission line and associated electrical equipment.

A key feature of the project is the modernisation of the lift irrigation system through the integration of a SCADA system with centralised control. This includes the installation of field instruments such as flow meters, level transmitters, pressure transmitters, and energy meters, along with provisions for system operation and maintenance.
