JSW Infrastructure Greenlights ₹2,359 Crore Expand in Maharashtra

JSW Infrastructure has approved a substantial capital expenditure of ₹2,359 crore for the expansion of its Jaigarh and Dharamtar Ports in Maharashtra. This investment will fund the development of new berths and supporting infrastructure, including railway sidings at Jaigarh Port, aimed at boosting third-party cargo movement.

The expansion will increase Jaigarh Port’s capacity from 55 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 70 MTPA and Dharamtar Port’s capacity from 34 MTPA to 55 MTPA. This capacity upgrade is designed to accommodate rising cargo volumes, particularly for JSW’s anchor customer, which is set to establish a five MTPA steel-making facility in Dolvi, Maharashtra.

The additional capacity will enable the handling of approximately 27 MTPA of new cargo, with construction expected to be completed by March 2027. This initiative is part of JSW Infrastructure’s broader FY30 growth strategy, which targets increasing its total capacity to 400 MTPA. The expansion underscores JSW’s commitment to scaling its operations to meet growing industrial demands and enhance port efficiency.
