Oriana Power's subsidiary, TrueRE Surya, has been awarded a significant 128 MW solar project by Dalmia Cement (Bharat), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dalmia Bharat. This ambitious project involves the development and operation of a ground-mounted solar power plant in Tamil Nadu, aimed at fulfilling Dalmia Cement's captive energy requirements.
The construction of the solar plant is projected to cost approximately ₹520 crore and is scheduled to be completed within the next 12 months. Once operational, the plant will generate around 1,920 lakh units of electricity annually, contributing significantly to the Group's RE100 commitment to achieving 100% renewable energy by 2030.
In addition to the project award, Dalmia Cement has agreed to acquire a 26% equity stake in TrueRE Surya, with the transaction expected to be finalized within the next four to six months. This strategic investment not only strengthens the partnership between the two entities but also aligns with the broader goal of advancing renewable energy initiatives.
Oriana Power's recent achievements include a notable 52 MW solar project order from Bharat Petroleum Corporation, valued at ₹247.88 crore. With these new project wins, Oriana Power's cumulative capacity under execution exceeds 570 MW, adding to its track record of delivering over 240 MW of completed projects.
The new solar project underscores Oriana Power's growing influence in the renewable energy sector and its commitment to expanding its portfolio. By capitalizing on such opportunities, Oriana Power continues to drive forward its mission of advancing sustainable energy solutions and supporting significant corporate sustainability goals.
