JSW, Juniper, Ganeko Bag Contracts in SJVN's 1,500 MW Hybrid Project

In a recent e-reverse auction conducted by SJVN Green Energy (SGEL), several renewable energy firms have secured capacities in its 1,500 MW ISTS-connected hybrid-II tender. Among the successful bidders, JSW Neo Energy and Ganeko Solar each secured 300 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity. This auction is part of SJVN's efforts to enhance renewable energy production in India.

Other notable winners include AmpIn Energy and Juniper Green Energy, each securing 150 MW of capacity. Datta Power Infra won 70 MW, while Inaayu Renewables secured 60 MW. Avaada Energy emerged as the largest single winner, being awarded 750 MW of capacity. These allocations highlight the competitive nature of the auction process.

The quoted tariffs varied slightly among the winners. AmpIn Energy, Ganeko Energy, Inaayu Renewables, Juniper Green Energy, and Datta Power Infra won at a quoted tariff of Rs 3.41 per unit. Meanwhile, JSW Neo Energy and Avaada Energy both secured their capacities at a quoted tariff of Rs 3.42 per unit. These tariffs will be applicable under the power purchase agreements (PPAs) established with SJVN.

SJVN, a joint venture between the Government of India and the Himachal Pradesh government, had invited bids for the selection of hybrid power developers for the ISTS project back in February. The PPAs signed with the successful bidders will last for a period of 25 years, ensuring long-term stability and commitment to renewable energy generation.

This auction underscores SJVN's role as an intermediary procurer and renewable energy implementing agency, driving the growth of hybrid power projects in India. The successful bidders will now contribute to the country's ambitious renewable energy targets, enhancing the overall capacity and efficiency of India's energy infrastructure.
