JSW Powers Sustainable Growth with 810 MW Project in Tamil Nadu

JSW Renew Energy Limited's 810 MW wind power unit project in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, is a major green energy push in India. This Rs. 5,000 crore wind power project, awarded under SECI Tranche IX, is expected to be one of the biggest in the nation. The project is crucial to India's renewable energy goals, providing clean electricity to millions of households and lowering carbon emissions. In December 2023, the first 51 MW phase was commissioned, with the remaining stages planned over the following year.

The JSW Renew Energy initiative aims to improve Tamil Nadu and India beyond electricity production. The project is projected to produce many construction and operation jobs due to its 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SECI. Modern wind turbines with innovative technology increase efficiency, and JSW Renew Energy wants to build solid transmission infrastructure to link the wind farm to the grid.
