Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Pvt. Ltd. (JTRFPL), a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons Ltd. (JWL), has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) dated August 19, 2025, for a ₹215 crore order to supply 5,376 wheelsets for the Vande Bharat project.
The order includes 2,688 motor wheelsets and 2,688 trailer wheelsets, marking a significant milestone in India's semi-high-speed rail development. This reinforces JWL’s growing role in supporting the Vande Bharat ecosystem with high-quality, durable, and efficient rail components.
The contract also aligns with JWL’s broader expansion strategy, including a ₹2,500 crore investment in Odisha to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Scheduled to become operational by 2027, the plant will scale up production capacity from 20,000 forged wheels and axles to 1,00,000 wheelsets annually—significantly reducing import dependence and strengthening India’s domestic rail manufacturing base.
