Lemon Tree Hotels, one of India’s fastest-growing mid-scale and premium hotel groups, has announced the signing of a new property in Akola, Maharashtra, further expanding its presence in the state. With this development, the company’s Maharashtra portfolio now comprises 28 hotels, including 15 operational properties and 13 under development.
The hotel will be operated by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels. To be branded as Keys Prima by Lemon Tree Hotels, the property will offer 55 well-appointed rooms, a restaurant, banquet and conference facilities, along with recreational amenities such as a fitness centre, swimming pool, and spa. Strategically located, the hotel is approximately 265 km from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport and about 4.4 km from Akola Junction railway station, ensuring convenient connectivity for business and regional travellers.
Akola, positioned in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, is an important commercial and agricultural hub, particularly known for its cotton production and trading ecosystem. Ongoing infrastructure upgrades and increasing business activity are enhancing the city’s appeal as an emerging hospitality destination.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Vilas Pawar, CEO – Managed & Franchise Business, Lemon Tree Hotels, noted that Akola’s growing commercial relevance within Vidarbha makes it a strategic addition to the group’s Maharashtra portfolio, as demand for quality branded hospitality expands beyond the state’s primary metropolitan centres.
The signing aligns with Lemon Tree Hotels’ broader strategy to strengthen its footprint across Maharashtra’s growth corridors and cater to evolving regional travel and corporate demand.
