In GIFT City, Gujarat, the ambitious 13-storey Lilavati hospital is taking shape, set to revolutionize healthcare with its upcoming deployment of air ambulance services. Scheduled for completion by March 2025, the hospital's first phase will introduce a helipad adjacent to the facility, aimed at enhancing emergency medical responses. Talks are underway with two air ambulance providers to initiate operations within GIFT City.
Spanning six lakh square feet and accommodating 350 beds, the hospital's construction progress includes the recent completion of four floors. Beyond standard medical care, Lilavati hospital aims to facilitate organ transplants upon its full operational launch by August 2025, despite a cost estimate rise to approximately Rs 530 crore.
Earlier this month, Lilavati Clinic and Wellness Centre in Ahmedabad commenced operations, strategically positioned to feed patients into the upcoming GIFT City hospital. Covering 8,000 square feet, the clinic boasts a capacity of handling 150 patients daily.
Looking ahead, Lilavati's owners envision a broader healthcare footprint across India, with plans to establish five hospitals over the next five years, backed by a Rs 4,000 crore investment. These hospitals, featuring 300 to 500 beds each, are slated for Assam, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Concurrently, the group plans to roll out 500 pharmacies nationwide within the same timeframe, underscoring their commitment to comprehensive healthcare infrastructure development.
This strategic expansion not only marks Lilavati's commitment to cutting-edge medical services but also underscores their proactive approach in meeting India's growing healthcare demands.
