Lohum Electrifies UP with $500 Cr Rare Earth Magnet Plant.

Lohum, a diversified critical minerals producer, has announced plans to set up India’s first integrated rare earth element (REE) magnet production facility in Uttar Pradesh.

The advanced plant will have a production capacity of 2,000 tonnes, manufacturing both light and heavy rare earth elements critical for sectors including electric mobility, renewable energy, aerospace, and defence. Lohum aims to fulfill 20% of India’s rare earth magnet demand by 2030.

With an investment of ₹500 crore, the facility is expected to be operational within two years, strengthening India’s position in critical minerals production and supporting the nation’s strategic and technological goals.
