The Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), in collaboration with Spain-based Fira Barcelona International, has announced plans to develop a world-class convention centre near Nagpur.
Envisioned as a premier destination for exhibitions, trade shows, and cultural events, the convention centre will span approximately 100 acres. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project was recently signed in Mumbai in the presence of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The facility will celebrate Nagpur’s cultural and historical heritage, with design elements reflecting the region’s identity. Due to space limitations within MIHAN, the centre will be located outside its non-SEZ area. MADC is currently identifying suitable land parcels with an emphasis on robust transport connectivity.
The project aims to blend modern architecture, sustainable construction practices, and advanced technology, positioning Nagpur as a significant hub for business and cultural exchange in central India.
