Max Healthcare Expands Northward Acquires Starlit Medical Centre in Lucknow

Max Healthcare Institute Limited (MHIL) has recently made significant strides in expanding its medical footprint by finalizing a share purchase agreement (SPA) to acquire Starlit Medical Centre Private Limited (SMCPL). The acquisition, valued at an enterprise value of Rs 940 crore, was executed through MHIL's subsidiary, Crosslay Remedies.

The acquisition encompasses a prominent 17-storey hospital building spanning approximately 27 acres in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. This tertiary care facility boasts accreditations from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) and the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH). Currently, the hospital serves an annual patient base of approximately 2,00,000 individuals.

This strategic move marks MHIL's entry into the thriving healthcare landscape of Lucknow, where it plans to introduce and enhance medical programs such as oncology, organ transplants, orthopaedics, cardiac sciences, neurosciences, and renal sciences. By establishing a presence in Lucknow, the company endeavors to bring top-tier healthcare services to the people of Uttar Pradesh, ensuring quality medical care accessible to the local population.

It's worth noting that Starlit Medical Centre had previously entered into a business transfer agreement with Sahara India Medical Institute, acquiring Sahara Hospital, a 550-bed facility situated in Lucknow.

Currently operating across 17 healthcare facilities spanning Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Maharashtra, Max Healthcare Institute provides a comprehensive network of healthcare services. With this recent acquisition, the total bed count is expected to surge from the existing 3,533 beds to around 4,083 beds, solidifying MHIL's commitment to expanding its healthcare infrastructure and providing superior medical care to a wider demographic.
