Bajel Projects has been awarded an ultra mega engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for a high-voltage power transmission project, as confirmed through a letter of award (LoA).
The order, announced by the company in its press release titled “Bajel Projects Secures Ultra Mega Power Transmission Order in India,” has been awarded by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) on behalf of its special purpose vehicle, Vindhyachal Varanasi Transmission Limited. The contract covers Transmission Line Package TL02 for the 765 kV Vindhyachal Pool–Prayagraj double-circuit line (Part II).
The project is part of the Inter-Regional (Northern Region–Western Region) Transmission System strengthening programme, undertaken under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route. It is aimed at relieving congestion on the existing 765 kV Vindhyachal–Varanasi double-circuit line.
The scope of work includes the construction of a 765 kV transmission line spanning 87.3 km, with a completion period of 21 months from the date of issuance of the Notification of Award. The contract further strengthens Bajel Projects’ footprint in India’s high-voltage transmission infrastructure segment.
