Meta & RIL's ₹855 Cr JV to Power Enterprise AI in India

Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) has announced a strategic joint venture with Meta to develop and scale enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) solutions across India and select global markets. The two companies will invest a combined ₹855 crore (USD 100 million) in the JV, with RIL holding a 70% stake and Meta 30%.

The JV will leverage Meta’s open-source Llama models to offer an Enterprise AI Platform-as-a-Service, delivering pre-configured, domain-specific AI solutions for functions such as sales, marketing, finance, IT operations, and industry-focused use cases. Designed for cost efficiency and deployment flexibility, the platform will support cloud, on-premises, and Reliance’s own infrastructure—making enterprise-grade AI more accessible to Indian businesses, particularly SMBs. The transaction is expected to close in Q4 FY2025, subject to regulatory approvals.

RIL and Google Cloud to Develop AI Cloud Region in Jamnagar

In a separate announcement, RIL has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to establish a cutting-edge AI cloud region in Jamnagar, Gujarat. RIL will develop, build, and operate the infrastructure, which will be powered entirely by green energy and integrated into Jio’s digital backbone.

The facility will comply with Google Cloud’s global standards and host Google’s AI hypercomputer and full AI stack, enabling the delivery of high-performance AI services to enterprises, startups, and public sector entities across India. The partnership aims to accelerate AI adoption while ensuring sustainable, scalable, and secure computing infrastructure.
