At the World Economic Forum 2026, Uttar Pradesh secured significant investment commitments amounting to ₹9,750 crore across the clean energy, artificial intelligence, and defence manufacturing sectors.
The state entered into a major ₹8,000 crore agreement with SAEL Industries to develop 500 MW of agriculture waste-to-energy capacity. Under this initiative, 20 biomass-based power plants will be established in paddy-growing districts, using crop residue such as paddy straw to produce renewable energy and promote sustainable waste management. In the technology domain, Uttar Pradesh also signed a memorandum of understanding with Sify Technologies for a ₹1,600 crore AI-ready data centre in Noida. Powered entirely by renewable energy and equipped with advanced air-cooling systems, the facility will support the development of an “AI City” and explore partnerships with leading global technology companies.
In addition, a ₹150 crore MoU was signed with Yeoman for defence manufacturing, focusing on weapons systems integration and technology transfer to strengthen the state’s defence production ecosystem. Collectively, these agreements highlight Uttar Pradesh’s strategic push towards sustainable, innovation-led, and future-ready industrial growth.
