Modi returns to Jharsuguda with ₹1,700 crore development push.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jharsuguda, Odisha, on September 27, relocating from the originally planned Ganjam venue due to heavy rain forecasts in coastal areas.

He will address a public gathering at Amlipali Ground, near Veer Surendra Sai Airport, where he last visited in 2018 for the airport’s inauguration. The visit will focus on a major infrastructure push, with projects worth over ₹1,700 crore set to be unveiled.

Key highlights include:

Foundation stone for the ₹273 crore Sambalpur City–Sarla flyover

Inauguration of railway line doubling projects:

34 km Koraput–Baiguda, 82 km Manabar–Koraput–Gorapur, Combined investment of over ₹1,400 crore

Flagging off the Amrit Bharat Express between Berhampur and Surat, enhancing interstate rail connectivity

Additional announcements will cover IIT expansions, medical infrastructure upgrades, skill development initiatives, and Antyodaya scheme benefits for 50,000 beneficiaries under the ongoing ‘Seva Parv’ campaign.
