Mother Dairy plans to invest ₹600 crore in two new fruit and vegetable processing plants in Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.
The Gujarat facility, located in Itola near Baroda, will require an investment of ₹400 crore and is expected to be completed within two years. The Andhra Pradesh plant in Kuppam will cost between ₹150-200 crore, though land acquisition is still in progress.
Managing Director Manish Bandlish stated, "The board has already approved the project. The establishment process for the Itola plant will begin soon and is scheduled for completion within the next two years."
Mother Dairy's Safal brand currently operates processing plants in Ranchi, Bengaluru, and Mangolpuri, handling two lakh tonnes of produce annually.
Additionally, the company is setting up a ₹500 crore milk processing plant in Nagpur, which is expected to commence operations by 2026. It has also recently introduced idli-dosa batter in the Delhi-NCR market, initially available at Safal booths. A full-scale rollout decision will be made in April, with an estimated investment of ₹5-10 crore.
