The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has approved a ₹2,508.21 crore project to construct and upgrade the 62.795-km Badwah–Dhamnod four-lane road, including land acquisition. The project will be implemented under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) to strengthen connectivity between two National Highways and improve access to the historic town of Maheshwar.
The road infrastructure will feature ten bypasses, five major bridges, 23 medium bridges, 12 vehicular underpasses, and multiple junction improvements. Public Works Department Minister Rakesh Singh stated that 40 percent of the project cost will be funded through the state’s Highway Fund, while the remaining 60 percent will be met from the state budget over a 15-year period.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved the continuation of the ‘Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0’ schemes for another five years, reinforcing the state’s commitment to child welfare and nutrition in line with norms approved by the Centre for the 16th Finance Commission period.
