Madhya Pradesh has strengthened its power transmission network with the commissioning of six new 132 kV transmission lines spanning 135.90 circuit km, expanding grid capacity and improving electricity supply reliability across the state.
The newly commissioned infrastructure includes new transmission lines and second-circuit additions, including one line developed specifically to meet railway traction requirements. The projects were completed despite challenging terrain and heavy rainfall, according to Madhya Pradesh Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar.
The second-circuit works include the Alot-Tal and Ganj Basoda-Saharwasa transmission lines. With these additions, MPPTCL’s total transmission network has expanded to 43,438 ckm.
The new infrastructure will strengthen the state’s power grid, enhance transmission capacity and support Madhya Pradesh’s growing electricity requirements.
