On 11 December 2025, the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, attended a civic reception hosted by the Manipur government at the City Convention Centre in Imphal.
During her visit, the President laid foundation stones for 14 major development projects worth ₹1,180 crore and inaugurated 12 completed projects valued at ₹207 crore. These initiatives form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Manipur’s infrastructure and promote economic growth. Addressing the gathering, President Murmu reaffirmed her commitment to the state’s development and highlighted the role of these projects in improving connectivity and enhancing the quality of life for its people.
The investments are expected to generate new opportunities across key sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. The visit underscored the Central government’s focus on inclusive development and further reinforced its partnership with the state of Manipur.
