The Government of Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has approved major industrial proposals involving investments of nearly ₹2 lakh crore across multiple sectors.
Among the key projects is Reliance Industries Limited’s proposal to establish a gigascale AI Data Center in Chittoor district with an investment of ₹1,08,010 crore. The project will include a cable landing station and nearly 850 MW of IT capacity and is expected to generate around 1,000 direct jobs along with significant indirect employment opportunities.
To strengthen the state’s innovation ecosystem, the Cabinet also approved the creation of “AP FIRST” (Andhra Pradesh Future Innovation, Research, Science and Technology), a Section-8 company that will leverage infrastructure and academic collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Tirupati to promote advanced scientific research and innovation.
In addition, the Cabinet cleared an integrated horticulture development programme aimed at transforming the Rayalaseema region into a global horticulture hub, with a focus on significantly increasing agricultural productivity and value-added output.
Collectively, the approved projects — numbering more than 40 — are intended to accelerate economic growth, strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s position as a major investment destination, and create substantial employment opportunities across technology, infrastructure, energy, and agriculture sectors. The initiatives reflect the state government’s broader strategy to promote high-tech infrastructure, sustainable development, and long-term regional competitiveness.
