New Life for Old Luxury: TTDC Announces Hotel Renovation

After taking over the hotel previously operated by the SRM Group following a legal dispute over the lease, the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) has proposed a comprehensive renovation to upgrade the property.

Constructed around 20 years ago, the hotel has not undergone any major refurbishment since it began operations. The proposed renovation plan includes modernising guest rooms, the restaurant, and the bar, as well as adding new rooms and conference halls to cater to a growing number of tourists. TTDC also plans to introduce upgraded amenities to enhance the overall visitor experience. The hotel currently has 110 rooms, and upon completion of the phased renovation, the capacity is expected to increase to around 200 rooms.

Situated near Tiruchy International Airport, the hotel is a preferred choice for airline crews and pilgrims. With tourism activity rising in Tiruchy, the renovation is aimed at attracting both domestic and international visitors. TTDC assumed possession of the hotel in October 2025, following the expiry of the 30-year lease agreement with the SRM Group.
