The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced that a 14-km link road connecting the Delhi–Meerut Expressway (DME) with the Ganga Expressway will be completed by July, significantly enhancing high-speed connectivity across Uttar Pradesh.
Once operational, the corridor will provide seamless access from Ghaziabad and Noida to Prayagraj and other eastern districts. The ₹524 crore project branches off from the DME near Zainuddinpur village in Modinagar, connects to NH-235 in Meerut, and links onward to the Ganga Expressway. Officials noted that nearly 80% of the work has been completed, with the remaining construction on track for timely completion. The new link is expected to reduce travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj to around six hours, improving both freight and passenger movement.
In addition, plans are underway for another expressway to connect Noida International Airport at Jewar and the Yamuna Expressway with the Ganga Expressway, further strengthening regional connectivity. Together, these projects are set to create a high-speed transport network linking western and eastern Uttar Pradesh, boosting logistics efficiency, industrial access, and overall regional development.
