Odisha Hindalco Industries Plans Captive Power Plant

In the village of Kansarigurha, located inside the Kashipur Tehsil, Rayagada District, Odisha, Hindalco Industries Limited is considering constructing a brand new captive power plant. 

The project intends to produce 150 megawatts (MW) of energy in order to satisfy the power needs of its neighbouring alumina refinery as well as other industrial units. & 5000 Crores in total expenditures.

The kind of this project is a captive power plant. Electrical Generation Capacity of the Project: 150 MW.

As on November 2023, The project is currently in the stage of being approved currently awaiting approval from the government.
