Odisha Unveils ₹35,000 Cr Green Fuel Ambitions

On February 14, 2024, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the groundbreaking ceremony for two groundbreaking green fuel initiatives valued at Rs 35,000 crore, situated within the Gopalpur Industrial Park.

During the event, the Chief Minister also took part in the commencement of construction for the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation's (IDCO) utility corridor in Ganjam district. Acme Cleantech Solutions is spearheading the establishment of a 1.10 MMTPA green ammonia plant, committing an investment of Rs 27,000 crore, which is expected to generate employment for approximately 4,000 workers. Concurrently, Avaada Green H2 will inject Rs 8,000 crore into a 0.5 MTPA green hydrogen/ammonia facility, opening up job opportunities for 1,500 individuals.

These two groundbreaking green fuel projects signify Odisha's stride into a new epoch of sustainable industrial progress. The Chief Minister underscored the pivotal role of these ventures in advancing environmentally friendly growth and augmenting local employment and skill development within the state.

Moreover, the Chief Minister highlighted the initiation of construction for a 600-meter utility corridor by IDCO, with an investment of Rs 128.88 crore, linking the Gopalpur Industrial Park to Gopalpur Port. This strategic infrastructure enhancement is anticipated to fortify the industrial park, managed by Tata Steel SEZ, while also catalyzing fresh investments in the region.
