Olectra Greentech: New Hyderabad Plant Now Operational

Olectra Greentech has commenced commercial operations of Phase I at its greenfield electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, Telangana, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion in the electric mobility sector. The facility, located at Seetharampur, began operations on 31 December 2025, and the development has been formally communicated to its lender, State Bank of India.

Phase I of the plant has an annual per-shift production capacity of 2,500 electric buses, accounting for 50 percent of the planned total capacity of 5,000 buses upon full commissioning. The new facility is expected to enhance Olectra Greentech’s manufacturing strength, support its expanding order book, and improve overall operational efficiency.

The Hyderabad plant underscores the company’s commitment to scaling domestic EV manufacturing and advancing clean, sustainable public transportation in India. It also reflects steady progress in executing its capital expenditure plans to address growing demand for electric buses and promote environmentally responsible mobility solutions.
