Orugallu Biofuel Private Limited is spearheading a groundbreaking initiative with its Ethanol Unit Project in Katakshapur, Warangal, Telangana, marked by a substantial investment of 160 Crores. This visionary project entails the establishment of a state-of-the-art 400 KLPD grain-based ethanol unit, utilizing locally available feedstocks such as maize and sorghum. Complementing this ethanol production, the project also features a 4.5 MW co-generation power plant designed to harness waste heat from the ethanol production process for electricity generation.
The innovative approach of this project extends to its energy efficiency, as the co-generation power plant will not only cater to the ethanol unit's captive power needs but also contribute surplus electricity to the grid. Anticipated to generate employment opportunities for around 250 individuals, the project aligns with the government's objective of achieving a 20% ethanol blend with petrol by 2030.
Beyond its immediate economic impact, the Ethanol Unit Project by Orugallu Biofuel Private Limited holds broader implications for India's energy landscape. By increasing ethanol production capacity, the project supports the national goal of reducing reliance on imported oil, promoting sustainability and self-sufficiency. In essence, this undertaking represents a significant stride towards a more resilient and sustainable energy future for the country.
