Power Surge: SJVN's ₹12,000 Cr. Capex & 13,090 MU Goal

SJVN Ltd. has unveiled a capital expenditure plan of ₹12,000 crore for FY 2025–26, alongside an ambitious target to generate 13,090 million units (MU) of electricity from its operational power assets.

The announcement follows a record-breaking performance in the previous fiscal year, where SJVN achieved its highest-ever annual generation of 10,647 MU. Continuing this momentum, the company generated 3,681.60 MU in Q1 FY26 alone.

Leading the output was the 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, which delivered 3,450.98 MU during the quarter, including a monthly peak of 1,222.17 MU and a single-day high of 39.572 MU. The 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station also achieved new performance benchmarks, while the newly commissioned 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station surpassed expectations by generating 316.40 MU in its debut year—exceeding its design energy.

These milestones highlight SJVN’s expanding role in India’s energy landscape, driven by strong operational performance and a robust project pipeline across hydro, solar, and thermal segments.
