Rainbow Ramps Up: 900 New Beds, 900 Cr Investment

Hyderabad-based Rainbow Children’s Hospital Group, one of India’s leading pediatric and perinatal care providers, is set to expand its footprint in North India with plans to add nearly 900 beds over the next three years.

Around 450 of these beds will be added in the National Capital Region (NCR), marking a major strategic shift for the Group, which has traditionally focused on southern states including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. The company now views Delhi NCR as a key growth market. “Our next big strategic bet is Delhi NCR. NCR is the future of children’s healthcare for North India, with Gurugram emerging as a major healthcare hub,” a company spokesperson said.

The expansion pipeline also includes approximately 90 beds in Electronic City and 60 beds in Hennur, Bengaluru; about 150 beds in Pune; and around 130 beds in Coimbatore. To support this growth, Rainbow plans to invest roughly Rs 900 crore through a mix of greenfield projects and an asset-light satellite hospital model.
