The 213-km Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor, a major infrastructure project set to transform regional connectivity, is nearing completion and is expected to open by early February.
With 99% of construction work completed, the corridor is designed to reduce travel time between Delhi and Dehradun to under three hours, offering a faster and smoother driving experience. While a few finishing touches remain, the road is largely ready for traffic. Officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) confirmed that minor work at an interchange will be completed shortly. “Some minor pending work at the interchange at km 8 on the Meerut–Baghpat National Highway 334B is expected to be completed within the next 10 days,” an NHAI official said.
The controlled-access corridor will feature improved amenities, including designated rest stops with refreshment facilities and toilets. However, the initial stretch from Delhi’s Akshardham may still experience mixed traffic conditions.
The speed limit on the corridor has been set at 100 km/h for cars and 80 km/h for trucks, ensuring safer and more efficient travel.
