Rolls-Royce has inaugurated its largest global capability and innovation centre (GCC) in Bengaluru, marking a significant investment in India’s aerospace and defence sector.
Located at Manyata Embassy Business Park, the centre was officially launched by Karnataka Industries & Infrastructure Minister MB Patil, who emphasized the state's highly skilled workforce and growing reputation as a global aerospace and engineering hub.
“This move reaffirms Karnataka’s position as a top destination for aerospace and defence investments,” said Minister Patil.
The inauguration was attended by Rolls-Royce CFO Helen McCabe and British High Commissioner Lindy Cameron.
The new facility will house:
Rolls-Royce’s global digital and enterprise services team
Engineering teams for civil aerospace and defence
Core functions supporting the company’s civil, defence, and power systems businesses globally
This centre is poised to become Rolls-Royce’s largest capability hub worldwide. The company also announced plans to double its sourcing from India over the next five years.
Bengaluru continues to lead as a prime destination for foreign aerospace investment, supported by a strong ecosystem of global and domestic players such as Boeing, Airbus, Collins Aerospace, Mahindra Aerospace, and a vibrant startup community. Karnataka’s aerospace and defence policy, backed by targeted incentives, world-class infrastructure, and ease-of-doing-business reforms, has been instrumental in attracting high-tech investments and fostering innovation.
